Lucknow: The agricultural landscape of Uttar Pradesh continues to experience steady advancement, driven by targeted policy measures implemented over recent years. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the hard work of the farming community serves as the primary engine for state development and economic resilience.
Reflecting on the evolution of the sector, the Chief Minister noted that cultivators previously faced severe financial distress and administrative hurdles prior to 2017. Current initiatives have systematically addressed these challenges through modern irrigation systems, regularized minimum support price disbursements, and the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi initiative.
Statistical records demonstrate that the state contributes nearly a fifth of India’s aggregate foodgrain output, alongside notable achievements in the production of wheat, sugarcane, and milk. State officials maintained that strategic investments in rural infrastructure have successfully elevated the overall agricultural growth rate to 18 percent.
Financial transparency remains a core focus of agricultural administration, evidenced by direct disbursements totaling over ₹1,03,833 crore for paddy procurement involving upwards of 80 lakh farmers through March 2026. With additional enhancements to the paddy minimum support price announced for the ongoing period, the administration reaffirmed its dedication to securing the economic future of those sustaining the agricultural sector.
