CHANDIGARH — Intensifying the political war of words in Punjab, AAP Media In-charge Baltej Pannu directed sharp questions at the Congress leadership following recent remarks by Rahul Gandhi on the state’s law and order and drug scenario.
Pannu asserted that opposition parties have little moral ground to critique current policies given their own administrative failures between 2007 and 2017 under successive governments, during which major drug networks allegedly flourished under political patronage.
“Explain what action you had taken against the drug mafia and name even one initiative you had undertaken to stop the drug menace in Punjab,” Pannu challenged, asking why leaders remained silent on ED investigations involving key figures during past tenures.
Highlighting the proactive steps taken by the present government, Pannu maintained that taking legal action against implicated officers and reopening suppressed judicial reports demonstrated administrative accountability. He concluded that the state administration remains fully satisfied with its relentless crackdown on narcotics and organized crime.
