Chandigarh, August 4: The Punjab Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a landmark resolution focusing on national testing scandals, examination paper leaks, and systemic institutional challenges.
Presenting the proposal in the Assembly, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema asserted that recurring examination irregularities over the past decade have adversely impacted the careers of young job applicants and students.
Drawing a distinction with state administration performance, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema declared, “While the Union Government protects corrupt syndicates and exploits students, the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has provided nearly 70,000 government jobs purely on merit and restored SC scholarships.”
The motion strongly condemns instances of examination breaches and calls for strict legal measures against paper leak syndicates alongside procedural reforms in central assessment bodies.
Outlining the formal procedure, Minister Cheema maintained, “It is the decision of this House to forward the motion to the Prime Minister’s Office and relevant ministries to ensure the legitimate concerns of the youth are addressed comprehensively.”
