Amritsar, August 28: Specialized units of the Punjab Police dismantled two cross-border trafficking syndicates operating near the international border, detaining six suspects and recovering major consignments of illicit arms and drugs. Operational updates shared by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed that tactical teams recovered two point nine two kilograms of heroin and eight sophisticated pistols during coordinated field operations in Amritsar.

The dual strikes were executed by the State Special Operation Cell alongside Counter Intelligence personnel following actionable intelligence regarding border drops.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that the breakthrough highlights the state’s ongoing counter-smuggling initiative aimed at neutralizing illegal arms and drug routes.

Investigators determined that the contraband entered the region via aerial drone drops originating from across the border, intended for immediate release into local criminal channels.

Legal proceedings were initiated under relevant statutes, with multiple first information reports filed at the State Special Operation Cell facility in Amritsar.

Gaurav Yadav maintained that state security forces are expanding field investigations to map out the entire operational network from primary border handlers to end-stage recipients.

The police chief declared that law enforcement personnel remain dedicated to protecting regional security by systematically dismantling organized trafficking networks.
