Chandigarh, Oct 23: Construction delays surrounding Amritsar’s Post Graduate Institute of Horticulture Research and Education have drawn sharp criticism from senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh following his high-level meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Chugh called for swift federal intervention to remove all local roadblocks hindering the facility’s completion.
In his representation to the Union Minister, Chugh emphasized that the Modi administration sanctioned the major research hub to secure a bright future for agricultural workers and accelerate regional growth. Expressing frustration over the delays, Chugh remarked that state inaction has unnecessarily stalled progress, insisting that there should be no compromise when it comes to the interests of Punjab’s farmers.
The BJP leader urged the central ministry to enforce strict guidelines so that state authorities resolve all ongoing obstacles. He reiterated that finishing the institution on a war footing remains essential to delivering long-term benefits to the region’s agricultural sector.
