Chandigarh, March 20:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has called a meeting of his council of ministers at his residence on Thursday night to discuss the 2025-26 budget proposals, with the Budget Session set to begin on Friday.
Sources in the Punjab government said the political impact of the recent crackdown on protesting farmers is also expected to be discussed. The meeting, scheduled for 7:30 pm, will review the day’s developments related to the farmers’ agitation.
Reports indicate that despite appeals from farm union representatives through gurdwaras in villages, urging people to join the protest, the response has been lukewarm so far.
