Shimla/Chamba, April 21— Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda has asked Chamba district officials to prepare a detailed action plan for improving health services and route it to the Centre through the Himachal Pradesh government.

Chairing a review meeting late Saturday to assess progress under the Aspirational District Programme, Nadda called for strengthening inter-departmental coordination and urged officials to involve public representatives at every stage of planning and implementation.

“Since the launch of the Aspirational District Programme in 2018, Chamba has seen meaningful development, and the Centre remains committed to further accelerating its progress,” Nadda said.

He specifically directed the Rural Development Department, Forest Department and local communities to work together on water conservation efforts, which he termed essential for sustainable growth.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress under ongoing schemes, he issued new instructions to step up implementation of key projects.

The meeting was attended by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, MPs Harsh Mahajan and Dr Rajeev Bhardwaj, and MLAs Neeraj Nayyar, Dr Hansraj, Dr Janak Raj and DS Thakur.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing that covered 49 indicators across major development themes including health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, skill development, infrastructure and financial inclusion.
