Decomposed Body Hanging in Morni Forest

Morni, April 24: A decomposed body of a young man, identified as Ravi Kumar of Nangal village in Barwala, was discovered hanging from a tree in the dense Morni forests on Wednesday, police said.

A passerby spotted the body and alerted authorities. Officers from the Morni police post reached the scene and recovered the remains, which were later identified through an Aadhaar card found in a nearby bag. The deceased was estimated to be between 28 and 30 years old.

Kumar’s father, who was informed soon after the discovery, arrived at the location and confirmed his son’s identity. Police said Kumar had a young daughter and had been missing since Friday.

“He left the house without telling anyone and even left his phone behind,” said a family member. “We had been looking for him for days.”

Police believe the condition of the body suggests Kumar died four to five days ago. The body has been sent to the Sector 6 hospital in Panchkula for post-mortem examination. No suicide note was found at the scene.

“We are awaiting the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death,” said a police officer. “The investigation is ongoing.”
