Chandigarh: Following the establishment of a state-ordered Special Investigation Team into the Sri Anandpur Sahib sarai episode, AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu pressed SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami and Sukhbir Singh Badal for direct answers regarding alleged administrative malpractice. Pannu raised questions about the suspension of driver Mohan Singh, arguing that if no official vehicle was provided to the woman as claimed, the driver’s disciplinary action remains unexplained. He also cited statements from internal figures linking former leader Virsa Singh Valtoha to the accommodation arrangements, challenging the SGPC’s repeated initial denials regarding her extended stay.
Rejecting allegations that the inquiry is intended to defame religious bodies, Pannu emphasized that Sikh followers and the younger generation have a legitimate right to question how sacred funds and institutional properties are managed. He urged SGPC leadership to face public scrutiny directly—suggesting that Dhami include questioning Sikh youth and intellectuals in his proposed press conferences—rather than avoiding unresolved administrative details. Pannu reaffirmed that the Bhagwant Mann government’s SIT investigation will systematically address every unanswered question raised by Sikh organizations and the public to ensure full accountability.
