Chandigarh, Oct 3: In an effort to facilitate smoother administrative procedures for patients, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre has streamlined medical billing processes by incorporating both private and public insurance mechanisms at its facilities in Punjab.
Hospital authorities asserted that the introduction of direct settlement options with private insurance companies eliminates the delays associated with traditional reimbursement claims. Representatives maintained that the expansion complements the substantial volume of patients receiving care through state and central government health schemes across the region.
The management affirmed that digital upgrades have been implemented simultaneously to enhance visitor convenience. Among these, a QR code-enabled UPI top-up feature for patient Smart Cards now allows immediate recharges without queueing at billing counters. Additionally, officials declared that a direct online contribution portal has been established to support patient assistance funds, with standard tax exemptions applicable for contributors under prevailing regulations.
