Chandigarh, August 17: A grand Teej celebration in Amargarh brought together hundreds of women in colorful traditional wear to honor Punjabi heritage while engaging in constructive dialogue regarding local development.

The program, hosted by MLA Prof. Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra, combined traditional music and dance with discussions on state policies designed to enhance economic dignity for families.

“Teej is not merely a festival, but a celebration connected with the happiness, dignity and cultural heritage of Punjab’s daughters and women,” maintained MLA Gajjan Majra while addressing the gathering.

Participants warmly received details of the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, a monthly financial assistance initiative rolled out in July 2026, noting that government policies are increasingly addressing everyday household requirements.

“A government that works should be given another chance, and the Bhagwant Mann government should be re-elected so that Punjab’s journey of development can move forward,” asserted several attendees during informal exchanges on constituency progress.

Beyond social welfare, the event highlighted broader agricultural and civic improvements, including major canal water distribution projects designed to benefit local farming communities. Local leaders noted that female participation in Amargarh has evolved beyond traditional social gatherings into an active voice for regional progress.
