SANGRUR: The execution of a CBI search at the village home of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s OSD, Rajbir Singh Ghuman, triggered administrative action in Sangrur after videos surfaced showing local crowds welcoming the agency’s vehicles with flower petals and sweet distributions.
Law enforcement agencies took two villagers into custody from Gharachon in connection with the demonstration. Simultaneously, the Sangrur police department placed local SHO Yashpal Sharma under immediate suspension for failing to maintain protocol and prevent public disruption during a high-profile search operation. Senior officials confirmed that the detentions and disciplinary measures were enforced to secure order across the district during the Chief Minister’s scheduled public itinerary.
