Jalandhar, August 10: Construction has formally commenced on the Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Bani Adhyayan Centre at Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar district, following a foundation laying ceremony led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Padam Shri Sant Niranjan Dass Ji.

The state-funded ₹37 crore initiative aims to establish an international hub for academic research focused on human equality, social dignity, and the abolition of caste discrimination as envisioned in the sacred compositions of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj gave the message of universal human welfare and equality for all sections of society, creating a vision for an egalitarian world where no individual suffers, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted. The state government remains fully committed to carving out an inclusive society based on these founding principles, the Chief Minister declared.

The campus layout features dedicated three-storey residential quarters for boys and girls, a three-storey academic wing, and specialized staff housing designed to support full-time scholars and visiting researchers.

The government is bearing the entire construction cost and project overheads to ensure a world-class academic environment for devotional and philosophical studies, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated.

The project forms part of a broader ₹100 crore commemorative allocation marking the 650th Parkash Purab. The government has deployed 50 specialized mobile units across 13,000 villages to disseminate information on the saint-poet’s life and social reforms.
