Chandigarh, June 11, 2025 — The Administrator’s Advisory Council has expanded to a total of 60 members with the nomination of six more prominent individuals, officials confirmed Wednesday.

The new additions to the panel include Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India; Sanjay Tandon, President of the UT Cricket Association; Devesh Moudgil and Anoop Gupta, both former mayors of Chandigarh; Gian Chand Gupta, former Speaker of the Haryana Assembly; and Dr Ravinder Nath, a well-known figure in the city’s medical and academic circles.

The Advisory Council, which offers guidance on administrative and developmental matters concerning the Union Territory, was last reconstituted on December 31, 2024, with an initial 54 members. The Council’s current tenure will continue until December 31, 2026.

With these latest nominations, officials say the Council now has a broader base of experience from legal, political, civic, and sports sectors to aid in better policy formulation for Chandigarh.
