JAMMU — July 30: In light of persistent heavy rains along the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra routes, authorities on Wednesday announced that no pilgrim convoys will depart from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on July 31.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure pilgrim safety amid weather disruptions.

“Due to the heavy rains over in the Yatra area, the movement of pilgrims from base camps has been affected. Therefore, it has been decided that no convoy movement shall be allowed towards the base camps Baltal and Nunwan from Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, on July 31, 2025,” Kumar said.

He added that pilgrims will be kept updated about the weather and route conditions as the situation evolves.

The annual Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine has so far witnessed over 3.93 lakh devotees performing darshan since its commencement earlier this season.
