New Delhi, October 20: Rahul Gandhi celebrated Diwali with a hands-on visit to Old Delhi’s iconic Ghantewala sweet shop on Monday, trying his hand at making traditional imarti and besan laddoo. He shared a video of the experience on X, greeting the nation and urging people to focus on relationships and community during the festival.

“Tell us, how are you celebrating your Diwali and making it special?” Gandhi asked in his post. He described the shop’s sweets as “pure, traditional, and heartwarming,” noting that the centuries-old family-run business has served generations of his family, from his grandmother to his father.

In the video, Gandhi carefully prepared the sweets while interacting with the shop owner, who humorously mentioned that they await supplying sweets for his wedding when it happens. Gandhi smiled at the comment before continuing his preparations.

The Congress leader also posted a message wishing the country a happy Diwali: “May India be illuminated with the lamps of joy, may the light of happiness, prosperity, and love spread in every home.”

The visit showcased Gandhi’s engagement with tradition and community spirit during one of India’s most celebrated festivals.
