Authorities trace synthetic drug supply to Gurugram

Gurugram, March 13, 2026 — The Shimla police department has declared a major breakthrough in its fight against synthetic drugs with the arrest of a 27-year-old Kerala resident accused of supplying high-grade LSD. The suspect, Naviel Harrison, was taken into custody in Gurugram on Friday following a coordinated effort by the district’s narcotics team.

ASP Abhishek Dhiman maintained that the arrest marks a critical step in dismantling the supply chain that recently brought over 500 LSD strips into the state. The police had previously seized the contraband, worth over Rs 1 crore, from two peddlers in Shimla. Dhiman stated that analysis of digital trails and call logs confirmed Harrison as the primary source of the narcotics.

The investigation affirmed that the suspects maintained regular contact to facilitate the trafficking of psychotropic substances across state lines. The ASP declared that the exchange of ganja for LSD was a recurring feature of their operations. He asserted that the police are now examining the potential involvement of other associates linked to Harrison in various states.

“Out of the total arrested this year, about 14 drug peddlers have been arrested from other states,” the ASP stated, noting that suspects have been brought in from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, and the India-Nepal border. The police department affirmed its commitment to pursuing out-of-state suppliers to curb the influx of drugs into the region. Authorities asserted that Harrison’s arrest is expected to significantly disrupt the local availability of LSD.
