Chandigarh, March 25: Punjab Social Justice Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur has declared that the state’s focus on skill development and financial aid has resulted in a second-place national ranking for SC scholarship disbursement. Speaking at an event in Mohali on Wednesday, the Minister asserted that the state government is prioritizing self-reliance for the youth by providing 100% funding for textbooks and technical kits.

The Minister stated that 1,506 students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are set to benefit from the new tool kit initiative, designed to help graduates transition directly into the workforce. In the initial phase, hundreds of students from six districts, including Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib, received their equipment. Dr. Baljit Kaur affirmed that these measures are essential for promoting skill-based employment and reducing dependency on traditional job markets.

Beyond technical training, the Minister asserted that the administration has successfully advocated for wider coverage of federal minority programmes. She maintained that the state has transitioned from limited regional coverage to a comprehensive, statewide implementation of scholarship schemes. The government declared that the goal remains the total empowerment of marginalized communities through targeted welfare interventions.

MLA Kulwant Singh and MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa also addressed the gathering, stating that the kits would allow trainees to earn a livelihood with dignity. The officials maintained that the current administration is dedicated to fulfilling the vision of social reformers by removing barriers to progress for the underprivileged.
