Hoshiarpur, April 15: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated a series of multi-crore development works in Tanda on Wednesday, emphasizing a shift toward holistic growth in the Kandi area. The projects, totaling ₹150 crore, focus on improving rural connectivity and expanding the reach of the state’s healthcare and education initiatives.
A key highlight of the visit was the commencement of a ₹1.54 crore water supply project in Talwandi Daddian and the allocation of funds for state-of-the-art health facilities. Mann affirmed that the renovation of link roads to high standards would transform the lives of residents who had been ignored by previous administrations for decades.
“Education is the key that can pull people out of this vicious circle by raising their standard of living,” Mann declared. He stated that Punjab’s top position in the National Achievement Survey 2024 is a testament to the success of his government’s educational reforms, including the establishment of 118 Schools of Eminence.
The Chief Minister also addressed the political history of the state, asserting that the Akali Dal had betrayed the trust of the people and the Guru Panth. He declared that voting for those responsible for past misdeeds would be a disservice to the state’s values. Mann stated that while traditional parties are focused on power, his administration remains dedicated to utilizing the state exchequer for schools, hospitals, and agricultural support.
“The taxpayer’s money is coming back to people through development,” Mann affirmed. He noted that the government has successfully provided free electricity to 90% of households and significant job opportunities to the youth, maintaining that efforts for a vibrant Punjab will continue unabated.
