Gurugram, April 21: The Haryana government has relocated its upcoming Cabinet session to Gurugram, marking a significant departure from the tradition of holding these meetings in Chandigarh. According to an official notification from the general administration department, the high-level meeting will take place tomorrow to deliberate on 12 major administrative proposals.
A central point of discussion is likely to be the proposal for waiving rent on the government accommodation occupied by Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The matter was previously put on hold after several cabinet members sought a detailed breakdown of state spending on the property’s manpower and electricity.
“The move is being seen as a signal of the city’s growing political and economic importance within the state,” government sources asserted. They maintained that holding the session in the NCR belt allows for a more focused review of local development and industrial needs.
The meeting will also serve as a platform to address broader issues, including infrastructure expansion and the recent industrial unrest in the Manesar belt. Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar, Shruti Choudhry, and Vipul Goel are slated to participate in the discussions. Local authorities have implemented strict traffic regulations and security protocols near the PWD rest house to facilitate the arrival of the state’s top leadership. Officials stated that the outcome of this meeting could set the tone for future urban governance policies in Haryana’s most prosperous districts.
