Haryana Education Department Accelerates Teacher Recruitment Campaign

New hiring initiatives intended to balance pupil-teacher ratios across all districts

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, June 29: An accelerated recruitment drive is being organized by the state education department to systematically lower the vacancy indexes across public learning centers. The latest evaluation from the Samagra Shiksha Project Approval Board points to a 26.2 per cent vacancy rate in senior secondary schools, translating to 5,573 open positions out of a total sanctioned strength of 21,311. Lower classes are also seeing dedicated administrative attention, with elementary and secondary levels holding vacancy gaps of 14 per cent and 12.2 per cent respectively.

The state’s top education administration is supervising the corrective strategy directly to ensure smooth transitions for students. Principal Secretary Vijay Singh Dahiya maintained that the government remains fully committed to stabilizing the teacher-to-student balance and upgrading school accessibility across all sub-divisions.

“Recruitment is under process and vacancies will be filled soon,” Dahiya declared, assuring that logistical interventions like student transport links are being deployed alongside the personnel updates to address smaller rural school enrolments.

The administrative data highlights specific operational areas scheduled for improvement, including 968 primary schools currently managed by individual educators. These single-teacher campuses account for roughly 11 per cent of the state’s primary school infrastructure. The central board has advised a thorough structural overview to keep the local pupil-to-teacher ratio aligned with progressive national development goals.

The upcoming workforce deployment will extend to state pedagogical institutions and specialized academies. While teacher training facilities like the local DIETs reflect a 62 per cent vacancy setup, the administration is evaluating deputation pathways to bring qualified educators into these centers of excellence. Similar optimization plans are being drafted for residential wings and inclusive education programs, where currently 6 per cent of the active teaching force has received specialized training in inclusive environments, supported by 515 dedicated special educators across the state.

The department is also conducting an administrative cleanup of its capital works budget to free up resources for these academic improvements. Financial managers are re-evaluating earlier infrastructure allocations from previous cycles, ensuring that unspent development funds are effectively directed toward completing vital school buildings. This fiscal realignment ensures that existing resources are fully exhausted before entering the next budgetary phase.
