RUPNAGAR, July 30 — Announcing new welfare support for citizens, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that 40 lakh newly registered women will receive direct financial assistance starting August 1, reiterating the resolve to return public funds to the people. Speaking during the state level ‘Ek Sham Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ event at Rupnagar, the Chief Minister shared government priorities alongside thousands of gathering devotees.
The Chief Minister asserted that Punjabis naturally celebrate all festivals together, from Ram Navami and Guru Purabs to Shaheedi Samagams, Hanuman Jayanti, and Eid. He maintained that sacred occasions foster compassion and prosperity while strengthening social unity across regions.
“It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for me to participate in this state level function filled with religious enthusiasm, joy and devotion. The state government has deliberately chosen this sacred land for this mega event because it is a land of rich heritage, culture and spirituality,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated.
Calling upon the public to reject divisive agendas, the Chief Minister urged citizens to collaborate on building a prosperous, drug-free state while supporting underprivileged sections of society. The event concluded with devotional performances by Hansraj Raghuwanshi as the crowd celebrated the cultural heritage of the region.
