Sunam, August 1: A state-level function was organized at Sunam Udham Singh Wala on Friday to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh, bringing together dignitary delegations and public representatives to honor the iconic freedom fighter.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led the state in paying homage at the memorial, offering a floral wreath to commemorate the revolutionary’s historical contribution. The Chief Minister asserted that the administration continues to align its policies with the values of justice and social welfare championed by the nation’s martyrs.
“His unparalleled sacrifice for the honour and dignity of the nation will forever remain a great source of inspiration for all of us,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed in a public message.
The Chief Minister noted that the bravery displayed by Shaheed Udham Singh in responding to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre demonstrated extraordinary devotion to the motherland. He maintained that remembering such historical milestones reinforces the collective responsibility to serve the nation with integrity.
Cabinet members and senior representatives present at the venue reaffirmed the government’s commitment to preserving the heritage of Punjab’s freedom fighters through continuous civic and educational initiatives.
