Chandigarh, August 1: The Aam Aadmi Party state unit targeted the central government on Friday following the digital restriction of Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer’s parliamentary address on digital platforms.
The Sangrur lawmaker demonstrated that while the video remained accessible on his official account, users attempting to access the footage within India received automated messages stating the content was unavailable in the region. He maintained that no unparliamentary language was used during his address regarding examination management and youth concerns.
“AAP’s legal team is studying the entire matter and examining all legal options,” MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer declared, adding that the organization will take necessary steps to safeguard democratic rights and freedom of expression.
The MP asserted that national focus should center on modernizing examination infrastructure and introducing systemic security measures rather than relying on temporary administrative decisions or restricting parliamentary commentary. He maintained that suppressing democratic feedback or taking punitive legal action against peaceful student demonstrators undermines public trust.
He affirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party will continue to advocate for transparent education policies, merit-based opportunities, and the rights of young citizens across the country.
