SC Commission Head Relinquishes Post

Former Commission Leader Outlines Party Priorities Following Organizational Assignment

by TheReportingTimes

Jasvir Singh Garhi formally vacated his post as Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission to assume public organizational responsibilities for the Aam Aadmi Party in Chamkaur Sahib. Addressing recent political inquiries, Garhi stated that his resignation was formally submitted on August twenty-sixth to ensure a clear separation between constitutional duties and party activities.

The organizational shift comes after opposition parties questioned the timing of his party appointment relative to his constitutional tenure.

Jasvir Singh Garhi affirmed that his decision to step down preceded the party announcement, maintaining that his efforts will now center entirely on grassroots political work within the constituency.

Garhi previously led the State Bahujan Samaj Party for nearly six years before joining the Aam Aadmi Party in January 2025 and subsequently taking charge of the state SC Commission.

Throughout his tenure at the state commission, Garhi took action on multiple high-profile complaints, initiating official inquiries involving prominent political figures and reviewing civil welfare matters across districts.

Garhi declared that he will work closely with local workers and current elected representatives to address community concerns and streamline public outreach across the region.

Party leadership expressed confidence in his organizational background as field activities expand across the constituency.
