TARN TARAN, SEPT 26 — Police have launched a multi-team search operation after Navdeep Singh, husband of Gaggobua village sarpanch Kulwinder Kaur, was shot dead following a late-night dispute between two village groups.
The victim was being conveyed to the hospital on Friday night after suffering gunshot wounds when he succumbed to his injuries, medical personnel noted.
Providing details on the investigation, DSP City Sukhbir Singh stated that the shooting followed a confrontation involving village resident Surinder Singh alias Sonu Kanda, who operates a jewelry shop in the locality. Police have registered a formal case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita alongside provisions of the Arms Act.
The legal action names three individuals, including primary accused Surinder Singh, Nirmal Singh Nimma, and Arshdeep Singh, as investigative teams conduct ongoing raids across the region to secure their arrest.
The DSP affirmed that the tragic event stemmed from a private village dispute, ruling out any underlying political rivalries or criminal syndicate involvement.
