Gurugram, 2 January 2025: Blinkit has launched a pilot project offering 10-minute ambulance services in Gurugram, marking a step forward in improving emergency healthcare accessibility. The initiative is designed to speed up medical assistance in urban areas.
According to Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, the company is addressing the critical issue of timely medical aid. “Today marks our first move to tackle the challenge of providing fast and dependable ambulance services in urban environments,” Dhindsa said. The service begins with five ambulances in Gurugram, available to users through the Blinkit app.
Customers can book Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, which are fully equipped with necessary medical equipment including oxygen cylinders, AED devices, stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medicines. Each ambulance will be staffed by a paramedic, an assistant, and a driver with specialized training.
“The aim here is not profit; we want to offer an affordable solution to address this urgent need in cities,” Dhindsa explained. He emphasized that the service is being launched with care and attention, aiming for expansion into major cities within the next two years to provide long-term emergency support.
