Delhi Red Fort Shuts to Public Ahead of National Celebration

Security Agencies Launch Audit as Venue Prepares for Prime Minister Address

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, July 16: The Archaeological Survey of India has ordered the temporary closure of the Red Fort starting Wednesday to prepare the landmark for the eightieth Independence Day celebrations. The UNESCO World Heritage Site will remain inaccessible to both domestic and international tourists until the end of the holiday event on August fifteen.

The official order affirmed that the closure is necessary to safely complete crucial infrastructure projects and security preparations inside the historic compound. Officials declared that the complex must remain entirely clear of general visitors to execute technical installations, stage building, and detailed barricading without disruption.

During this period, specialized security teams will conduct rigorous safety evaluations across the fort’s ramparts and surrounding grounds. The strict measures are designed to eliminate any safety lapses prior to the gathering of national dignitaries. Normal public entry and ticketing services will resume immediately after the conclusion of the official celebrations.
