TARN TARAN, May 15: Punjab Police arrested a notorious smuggler, Amarjot Singh, from the Chabal area and recovered 5 kg heroin from his possession.
Sharing details on social media platform ‘X’, DGP Gaurav Yadav said Amarjot was associated with an international drug syndicate and had active links with foreign handlers.
He was reportedly involved in cross-border smuggling operations, making him a high-value target in the ongoing crackdown.
An FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Tarn Taran City Police Station. Officials said Amarjot’s arrest has opened leads to a larger international network, and further investigation is underway to trace his contacts and collaborators.
