Chandigarh, Oct 22: During a press briefing in Chandigarh, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora cautioned the electorate that voting the Congress party into power in 2027 would result in the immediate withdrawal of vital socio-economic safety nets introduced by the Bhagwant Mann government. Citing statements from Congress MP Raja Warring about narrowing subsidy eligibility, Arora argued that the main opposition party aims to strip ordinary citizens of financial aid, free household electricity, and healthcare insurance under the guise of fiscal reform.
Questioning the opposition’s moral standing, Arora urged Congress MPs, MLAs, and former ministers to lead by example and surrender their own government-funded subsidies before advocating for cuts to welfare measures for common households. Reminding voters of past policy reversals under previous Congress regimes, he asserted that pre-election assurances from the party would prove hollow, leaving Punjab’s working families to bear the burden of increased living and agricultural costs.
