Floor leaders discuss upcoming Monsoon Session agenda

NEW DELHI, July 19 — The Central Government held a comprehensive all-party meeting at the Parliament House annexe to discuss the legislative agenda for the upcoming Monsoon Session. The session, scheduled to begin shortly, will feature discussions on multiple crucial legislative bills and national policies.

Chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the meeting aimed to build consensus and seek active cooperation from 58 leaders representing 40 political parties to ensure the smooth functioning of both Houses.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju requested cooperation from all political parties to facilitate the smooth functioning of both houses of Parliament. Leaders from various political groups attended the discussions to present their viewpoints.

Key bills slated for discussion and passage include:

  • Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025
  • National Sports Governance Bill, 2025
  • Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024

Government representatives declared that the administration is fully prepared to address all topics raised by members within the framework of parliamentary rules. Several opposition representatives stated that they intend to bring forward public welfare and economic growth matters during the formal sessions.
