Chandigarh, June 7: The Congress party’s repetitive practice of staging walkouts during active legislative sessions undermines the foundational spirit of the assembly, Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij announced on Sunday. Replying to opposition critiques concerning the state’s legislative calendar, the minister stated that opposition members show minimal dedication to state debates, choosing instead to flee the assembly floor whenever the administration presents its official rebuttals.
The administrative briefing also addressed recent social media interactions concerning new political advocacy groups. The minister noted that while the constitutional setup guarantees the right to assemble and champion public causes, branding an organization after a common household pest diminishes its political credibility. He advised organizers of the Cockroach Janata Party to rebrand their movement to ensure their civic struggles are taken seriously by the public.
The political discourse shifted to state security operations following inquiries regarding the legal processing of opposition leader Deepender Singh Hooda. The minister maintained that executive branches operate independently of political motivation, leaving routine order maintenance to active state departments. He noted that the public consistently votes the ruling party back into office because of the visible contrast in professional conduct between the treasury and opposition benches.
The minister stated that the state’s enforcement frameworks are driven entirely by their mandate to protect regional lives and properties. He maintained that the opposition’s current legal difficulties are a reflection of their own public conduct rather than any targeted state intervention.
“Struggle if you wish—everyone has that right in a democracy—but change your name,” Minister Anil Vij noted while reviewing his public posts. “Cockroach is the name of a very filthy insect. Even a small child crushes it with a slipper on seeing it.”
The minister declared that the current opposition infrastructure prioritizes media space over community solutions, rendering their legislative participation ineffective.
“When Assembly sessions are held, Congress members do not participate seriously, and when government ministers or the Chief Minister begin responding, they walk out of the House,” Anil Vij asserted. “Why would we target them? Maintaining law and order and protecting life and property is the responsibility of the agencies concerned.”
