Bathinda: Sept 14: The ongoing state campaign against drug abuse received significant community backing on Sunday as 20,000 participants joined the ‘Youth Run Punjab-2026’ marathon in Bathinda. Organizers declared that the wide participation across all age groups serves as a clear indication of public commitment toward fitness and athletic engagement over illicit substances, strengthening the scope of the state’s anti-drug initiative.
Representing the Chief Minister’s office during the event, Rajbir Singh Ghuman declared that public participation has set a high standard for upcoming sports events planned across Punjab. He maintained that the public drive successfully counters past negative labels attributed to the region by demonstrating active youth involvement in constructive activities. Participants across categories were awarded cash prizes, medals, and commemorative kits as officials pledged to expand the marathon series to additional major districts.
