NEW DELHI, OCT 17 — Judicial proceedings in a 2018 defamation case against YouTuber Dhruv Rathee saw a key advancement as a Delhi court issued a bailable warrant following difficulties in serving court summons.

The court took note of official reports stating that attempts to deliver notices at the Gurugram residence were unsuccessful because the premises remained locked. The legal action stems from a complaint lodged by Vikas Pandey, who maintaining that video content posted on Rathee’s social media channel was defamatory.

During the hearing, counsel for the complainant asserted that the respondent generally maintains residence abroad in Austria but had recently visited India in connection with local public protests.

Courts had previously issued fresh summons directing service at the Gurugram address after noting prior delays in completing notice delivery. Following the latest court report confirming non-service, Judicial Magistrate Rahul Jain issued the bailable warrant and posted the matter for further hearing on October thirty-one.
