Chandigarh: The visit of BJP leaders to Toor Banjara village in Sangrur met with strong local opposition, prompting AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu to declare that attempts to divide society for electoral math will never succeed in the state. Pannu maintained that the incident reflects the deep-rooted resistance among Punjabis against external political narratives based on caste and religion.
Pannu asserted that electoral strategies relying on community divisions may yield results in other regions, but Punjab’s distinct political character rejects such polarization. He highlighted that previous efforts to split vote banks along caste lines have consistently been thwarted by the state’s unified social structure.
Addressing traditional opposition parties including the Akali Dal, Congress, and BJP, the AAP spokesperson urged them to abandon polarizing rhetoric. He declared that the electorate has clearly signaled its preference for developmental politics centered on public healthcare, education, and social welfare.
Pannu reaffirmed the ruling party’s commitment to maintaining peace and harmony across the state, adding that no political force will be allowed to disrupt social cohesion for short-term electoral ambitions.
