by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, October 27: The Punjab Legislative Assembly unanimously urged the Union Government to take proactive steps to reopen the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and restore seamless travel for Sikh devotees.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains introduced the motion during the final day of the Vidhan Sabha proceedings, declaring that the sacred passageway serves as an emotional bridge connecting the community directly with the land where Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent his final years. The resolution formally appealed to central leadership to initiate diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan to establish transparent, hassle-free travel protocols for visitors of all age groups.

Addressing lawmakers, Minister Bains stated that restrictions along the corridor directly impact the religious sentiments of global sangaatan. He affirmed that preserving open access aligns with universal values of spiritual freedom and serves as an enduring tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless message of equality and service.
