Chandigarh, June 11: Forty-eight newly selected technical managers are set to join the Punjab Revenue Department following a merit-based recruitment drive aimed at modernising public service delivery across the state. Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian handed over the formal appointment letters to the candidates during an official gathering at Punjab Bhawan on Wednesday. The fresh intake includes eleven District System Managers and thirty-seven Assistant System Managers.
The selection process, initiated via applications invited by the Punjab Land Records Society in April 2025, focused entirely on a transparent and competitive framework. To prepare the new recruits for their administrative responsibilities, the department has scheduled a mandatory two-month training programme at the office of the Director Land Records in Jalandhar. The training structure is divided equally, featuring one month of dedicated revenue training and another month of practical field experience.
Cabinet Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian declared that the state administration remains firmly committed to generating employment opportunities and prioritizing youth empowerment. The Minister maintained that the current government has successfully distributed more than sixty-six thousand public sector jobs to qualified candidates through structured, clear recruitment drives. This steady focus on transparent hiring has significantly restored the confidence of young job seekers in the state administrative framework.
Addressing the incoming officials, the Revenue Minister asserted that they must approach their duties with deep sincerity, accountability, and professionalism. S. Mundian maintained that as caretakers of a critical public service system, the technical team should stay resilient against external pressures or misleading advice, actively working towards the collective goal of a prosperous Punjab.
Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. Anurag Verma affirmed that the entire process was completed on absolute merit without any external influence or recommendation. He stated that because Punjab is primarily an agrarian state, land-related operations carry immense importance for the public, making the role of these system managers highly vital. Mr. Verma declared that since land records throughout the state have been successfully digitised, these newly appointed technical officers will bear the core responsibility of maintaining, managing, and updating the state’s modern data infrastructure.
The ceremony concluded in the presence of Special Secretary-cum-Director Land Records Mr. Paramvir Singh, alongside senior officials representing the Revenue Department and the Punjab Land Records Society.
