Daylight firing rattles Ludhiana car showroom

by TheReportingTimes

Ludhiana, Jan 10: A luxury car showroom near Mullanpur on the Ludhiana–Ferozepur highway came under attack on Saturday morning when armed assailants fired multiple rounds before escaping on a motorcycle, police said.

The incident occurred at the Royal Limo showroom in Baddowal, opposite the ITBP camp, at around 10.30 am. Witnesses told police that two men arrived on a bike and fired seven to eight shots at the showroom entrance.

Bullets struck the front glass façade and damaged the windshields of several luxury cars parked inside. The showroom stocks premium vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover models.

No one was injured in the firing, though employees and customers were left shaken by the sudden violence.

During a search of the spot, police recovered empty shells and two slips allegedly carrying the names of gangsters Pawan Shaukeen and Mohabbat Randhawa.

DSP Varinder Singh Khosa said the matter is being investigated from multiple angles. “The presence of gangster name slips suggests an extortion-related motive, but the showroom owner has stated that no such calls were received,” he said.

Police teams have begun examining CCTV footage and other technical evidence to trace the attackers.

The incident has once again raised concerns over daylight crimes targeting commercial establishments along major highways in the region.
