Gas cylinder crisis sparks massive AAP agitation in Chandigarh

Party leaders warn of intensified protests if fuel supply is not restored and prices lowered

CHANDIGARH, March 17 — The Sector-17 Plaza witnessed deafening slogans on Monday as Aam Aadmi Party workers and local residents protested what they termed the “extortion” of the general public by the central government. The protest centered on the skyrocketing prices of domestic gas and a deliberate disruption in cylinder distribution across the Union Territory.

Addressing the crowd, AAP leaders noted that the current government has surrendered to inflation, leaving the common man to face an artificial scarcity of essential fuel. They stated that the same BJP leaders who once led protests over minor price hikes are now disregarding the plight of women whose household budgets have been crushed by the latest surge in LPG costs.

“The Modi government has launched a direct strike on the plates of the common man,” AAP State Media In-Charge Vikrant A. Tanwar asserted. He maintained that the party would make it difficult for ruling party representatives to ignore the public outcry if the supply system is not rectified immediately.

Among those present were councilors Yogesh Dhingra, Jasbir Singh Laddi, and Shadab Rathi, along with General Secretary Sunny Aulakh. The leaders declared that the party is prepared to hit the streets across every ward to ensure the central government is held accountable for the rising cost of living and the mismanagement of gas supplies.
