Punjab Challenges Haryana CM Over ‘Crumbling’ Ayushman Scheme

Baltej Pannu calls for focus on state issues as private hospitals in Haryana threaten to halt treatment

CHANDIGARH, April 11 — Strongly wording response to recent remarks by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu has urged the Haryana leadership to resolve its internal healthcare failures. Pannu pointed to the recent ultimatum by the IMA in Haryana as evidence that the state’s medical financial management is failing the underprivileged.

Pannu affirmed that the contrast between the two states is evident in their respective healthcare outcomes. He stated that the Punjab government has revolutionized the sector by offering extensive cashless insurance and accessible local clinics. He maintained that the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna in Punjab offers a much broader safety net, ensuring that 35 lakh families have access to high-quality care without the financial bottlenecks currently plaguing Haryana.

“CM Nayab Saini must explain where the poor people in his state will go for treatment now,” Pannu declared, referring to the threat of treatment stoppages in private wards. He stated that the frequent visits by Haryana leaders to Punjab to question the AAP government are merely an attempt to deflect from their own administrative shortcomings.

The AAP leader asserted that Punjab has become the first state in the country to provide such substantial relief in healthcare and education. He declared that if the Haryana government wishes to make comparisons, it should look at the tangible results achieved on the ground in Punjab. Pannu concluded that the public is aware of who is delivering results and who is engaging in political rhetoric while essential services like the Ayushman scheme face collapse.
