AAP chief warns of BJP’s designs on Punjab’s resources

Kejriwal vows to halt central ‘victory chariot’ in upcoming assembly polls

NEW DELHI, MAY 6 — National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal issued a stern warning on Tuesday regarding the BJP’s alleged intentions to compromise Punjab’s territorial and agricultural interests. Addressing AAP MLAs from Punjab, Kejriwal asserted that a victory for the opposition would lead to the implementation of controversial farm laws and the transfer of state assets to Haryana.

Kejriwal stated that the BJP harbours a specific animosity toward Punjabis, which he claimed is evident in the withholding of rightful financial dues by the Union government. He affirmed that if the BJP ever gained power in the state, they would hand over Chandigarh, Panjab University, and Punjab’s river waters to neighboring Haryana.

“We must tell people that if the BJP forms a government in Punjab, they will destroy the state,” Kejriwal asserted. He noted that the central government has already demonstrated its stance by denying Punjab its RDF funds and allegedly manipulating voter lists in other regions to influence outcomes.

The AAP leader also addressed the loss of Rajya Sabha representatives, stating that the BJP had robbed the people of Punjab of six seats. He maintained that the electorate would seek “revenge” for these actions during the polls scheduled for next February.

Discussing the performance of the Bhagwant Mann government, Kejriwal declared that the state’s financial integrity has allowed for massive public works without the traditional excuse of an empty treasury. He mentioned that 9,000 kilometers of roads have already been completed, with thousands more expected by June.

“The end of the Modi government will come through Punjab,” Kejriwal declared. He affirmed that the state has historically stood as a barrier against external threats and would now act as a guardian of the Constitution against internal challenges. He concluded by stating that the Aam Aadmi Party remains committed to defeating anti-democratic forces through the strength of its governance and public service.
