SFJ Gives Disruption Threats to Diljit Dosanjh’s US tour dates

Singer’s tribute to Ghadar revolutionaries met with video threat from Pannu

Calgary, May 6: Punjabi global star Diljit Dosanjh faces a new wave of opposition from the banned group Sikhs for Justice after its leader, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, issued a video warning against the singer’s upcoming American shows. The friction stems from Dosanjh’s recent Calgary concert, where he openly confronted pro-Khalistani elements for displaying flags during his set.

The incident occurred during a stop on the Aura 2026 World Tour, a series of concerts dedicated to the history of the Punjabi diaspora and the Ghadar Movement. When protesters raised flags, Dosanjh maintained the flow of the show but addressed the act directly. “Keep showing the flags if you want,” the singer asserted, while the crowd cheered his recommendation that disruptive elements be escorted out.

The singer has frequently referenced the emotional weight of his tour, noting the historical struggle of Punjabis in North America. He told his audience that the ability for tens of thousands of Punjabis to gather freely now is a direct legacy of those who were once turned away. “You didn’t allow us to come then, and now, here we are,” Dosanjh maintained, referring to the 1914 Komagata Maru incident where 376 passengers were refused entry into Canada.

Beyond the music, Dosanjh has used his stage to honor the memory of the Guru Nanak Jahaz and the revolutionary spirits of leaders like Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna. Despite the current threats from SFJ, the artist has continued to focus his narrative on the evolution of the community from the early 20th-century struggles to their current status as a thriving global audience. Local authorities in scheduled tour cities are reportedly aware of the online threats.
