BATALA, May 15 — During an anti-drug awareness programme organised on the occasion of the 38th Gurugaddi Divas of Sant Trilochan Das Ji Maharaj at Sachkhand Nanak Dham, Darshan Darbar in Batala, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann outlined a comprehensive roadmap for the state’s resurgence, focusing on healthcare, women’s empowerment, and the eradication of the drug trade.
The Chief Minister stated that the “Yudh Nashean Virudh” campaign is delivering on its promise to clean the state of narcotics through a combination of strict enforcement and social reintegration.
The Chief Minister noted the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, noting that health cards are being distributed to 65 lakh families, providing up to ₹10 lakh in free annual treatment. He affirmed that 30 lakh beneficiaries have already received their cards, marking a significant shift in public health accessibility. Furthermore, the Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna has been launched to provide monthly financial assistance of up to ₹1,500 to women across the state.
“Today, people’s money is being invested in schools, hospitals, roads and infrastructure instead of corruption and loot,” the Chief Minister stated. He maintained that the government has successfully provided over 65,000 transparent job appointments and ensured uninterrupted power supply for the farming sector during the paddy season.
Addressing spiritual and social harmony, Mann declared that the state’s soil is fertile for everything except hatred. He asserted that the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Amendment Act 2026 was a historic necessity to protect communal peace. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that with the continued cooperation of the public, the day is near when Punjab will be entirely free from the shadow of drugs and organized crime.
