Digital Platform Restructured Punjab Land Record System: Sandhwan

Speaker Sandhwan Calls for Local Awareness to Counter Administrative Malpractice

Chandigarh, June 13: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan announced that the introduction of automated land service portals has significantly reduced administrative delays and minimized unauthorized fees in regional property departments.

The legislative head addressed a gathering to outline the operational benefits of the newly deployed digital registry networks. He noted that the transition to an online format addresses historical inefficiencies that disrupted public services for decades.

Mr. Sandhwan requested that local council members, youth groups, and government employees educate rural communities on how to navigate the electronic services effectively. He stated that moving these operations online removes the unnecessary middlemen who previously complicated the documentation process for ordinary citizens.

“With the launch of Easy Jamabandi, there is absolutely no need to visit a Patwari office, stand in queues, or pay bribes,” the speaker stated, adding that the downloadable land records carry full legal validity.

The updated portal features automated document delivery through standard mobile messaging applications alongside online processing for property title adjustments. It also includes simplified procedures for updating land registries and correcting typographical mistakes without requiring physical departmental approvals.

To protect domestic and overseas landowners against property tampering, the platform features a real-time subscription alert system. The system automatically contacts the registered owner the moment any change is initiated on their land file, functioning as an administrative safeguard against fraudulent transfers.

The speaker noted that the government provides multiple avenues for accessing these tools, ensuring that residents who lack internet connectivity can still receive assistance through designated state telephone lines or local physical support centers. He maintained that the policy reflects an ongoing commitment to bring clean, straightforward governance directly to the public.
