Bathinda/Chandigarh, June 13: The Aam Aadmi Party announced that its administrative performance over the past four years has established a clear path for Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to secure a consecutive term in the 2027 assembly elections. Party leader Arvind Kejriwal associated the recent victory in the Bathinda local body elections directly with public satisfaction regarding governance and anti-graft measures.
The event, which drew local residents to a central roadshow, served as a platform for the party to present its governance record alongside state leaders Manish Sisodia and Aman Arora.
Mr. Kejriwal maintained that the public response during the event demonstrated an increasing level of trust in the provincial administration compared to previous political eras.
“We completed four years, and today there is so much happiness on people’s faces,” Mr. Kejriwal stated, contrasting the reception with the public public anger faced by earlier administrations.
The party head remarked that the state’s political landscape features distinct factions, describing opposing groups as organizations focused on internal conflicts or utilizing federal agencies to influence rivals. He asserted that his party functions strictly as a public-service organization, noting that the administration successfully removed the systematic extortion networks that previously disrupted commerce in Bathinda.
The national convenor noted that financial discipline allowed the state to fund welfare programs, such as utility subsidies and upcoming monthly direct cash transfers for women, starting July 1. He called upon party workers to focus entirely on the upcoming assembly elections, which he noted are expected to take place in November.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that a quiet coalition of traditional parties attempted to disrupt his party’s progress during the civic polls. He maintained that voters consciously rejected the joint efforts of the opposition factions because residents prefer a representative from an ordinary background over legacy political families.
The chief minister noted that the government has provided more than 67,000 public sector jobs based entirely on candidate merit. He also stated that the closure of several highway toll plazas across the region saves commuters significant daily expenditure.
Addressing the farming sector, Mr. Mann declared that agricultural development remains the focus of his economic policy. He affirmed that the ongoing expansion of the surface water network will continue to provide sufficient canal water to fields, reducing dependency on tube wells and protecting groundwater levels.
