Chandigarh, June 20: Punjab is witnessing unprecedented advancements in education, healthcare, power, and social welfare due to the implementation of citizen-first policies, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated during a Lok Milni event in Phagwara. The Chief Minister announced that every administrative decision is designed to benefit the common man, pointing to major milestones such as the provision of over 67,000 corruption-free government jobs and substantial upgrades to the state’s schools and medical facilities.
The state government has introduced landmark initiatives, including the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which offers cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every resident family in Punjab. The Chief Minister also spoke about educational transformations through the Schools of Eminence, which feature modern classrooms and international training for educators, leading Punjab to secure the top rank in the National Achievement Survey. Additionally, the administration has optimized state resources by closing 19 toll plazas, saving citizens lakhs of rupees daily.
“The work of any government is to provide wings to children so that they can script a new success story in life,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated. He declared that every file signed by his office is aimed at the benefit of the common man and the state. “More than 67,000 government jobs have been provided to youth without corruption or recommendation. Every decision of the state government is aimed at the progress of the state and prosperity of its people,” he affirmed.
The Chief Minister contrasted these developmental achievements with the record of previous administrations, noting that Akalis and Congress acted as two sides of the same coin, prioritizing personal interests over public service. He stated that those who mismanaged state matters and misled religious institutions have lost all credibility among the public. The Chief Minister reassured the gathering that taxpayers’ money is now being transparently redirected into public infrastructure, irrigation pipelines, and direct financial assistance for women.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister announced an allocation of over ₹18 crore for the comprehensive development of the Phagwara constituency. He reiterated that the Lok Milni initiative serves as a vital bridge to bring governance directly to the doorsteps of the people. The event was attended by Lok Sabha MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal along with several senior regional leaders.
