Mahendragarh, July 14: A new government nursing college will be established in Dongra Ahir village to provide advanced medical education access to rural students in Mahendragarh. The Haryana Government gave the official go-ahead for the project, directing health officials to fast-track all remaining procedural requirements to begin construction as soon as possible.

The initiative is designed to build a self-sustaining healthcare ecosystem by training local professionals close to their homes. Young women from dozens of surrounding villages will no longer need to migrate to distant urban centers to secure quality degrees in nursing.

“With the establishment of the college, the students from rural areas will no longer have to travel to distant cities to pursue professional nursing education,” Health Minister Arti Singh Rao stated. She maintained that the project satisfies a critical demand from the community while driving regional development.

Beyond providing immediate academic avenues, the institution is expected to resolve localized shortages of trained clinical personnel. The Health Minister affirmed that the long-term impact involves transforming young women into socially empowered, financially independent citizens who can directly elevate the region’s medical services.

“The institution will also contribute to strengthening the healthcare ecosystem in the region by producing skilled nursing professionals,” Rao asserted.

Alongside the infrastructure announcement, the government enacted a major administrative restructuring by elevating 38 Medical Officers to the post of Senior Medical Officer. The promotions follow intensive discussions between the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association and state health leadership regarding career progression delays.

Association members expressed satisfaction with the swift resolution, noting that the backlog of promotions had been a point of concern for government doctors. Officials declared that the strategic placement of these veteran doctors into oversight roles will instantly fortify the management of Community Health Centres and state-run hospitals.
