MOGA, July 26 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the people of the state have made up their minds to re-elect the Aam Aadmi Party government in 2027 due to its consistent pro-people policies over the last four years.
Addressing a gathering during a Lok Milni programme at village Charik in Moga, the Chief Minister maintained that key welfare measures have directly benefited every section of society.
“The overwhelming public response and the trust earned over our tenure reflect the visible change on the ground. Initiatives like free electricity for 90 percent of households, universal health cover, and transparent recruitment have left the opposition without any political ground,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared.
In a post shared on X regarding the event, the Chief Minister affirmed, “Heartfelt thanks for the immense love and overwhelming gathering at the Lok Milni programme held today in the historic village of Charik. Handed over a grant of ₹51 lakh for the development of the village. Further strengthening healthcare infrastructure, we dedicated 100 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people today, taking the total number of operational clinics in Punjab to 1,090.”
He further added, “Ensuring canal water reaches 88% of agricultural fields, providing zero electricity bills to 90% of households, and giving government jobs to youth purely on merit remain our top priorities.”
Focusing on the irrigation sector, the Chief Minister stated that canal water usage has expanded substantially under the current administration.
“In 2022, the state was utilising only 22 percent of its canal water, but today that figure has crossed 80 percent. In some parts of Punjab, people saw canal water for the first time in 80 years. According to Union Ministry records, Punjab’s groundwater table has risen by four metres due to these sustained efforts,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said.
He noted that 14,000 kilometres of pipelines and watercourses have been laid across the state to facilitate farmers, ensuring daytime power supply for irrigation during the paddy season.
Reflecting on governance and public administration, the Chief Minister maintained that taxpayer money is being returned to the public through improved infrastructure, schools, and hospitals. He pointed out that over 68,000 government jobs have been provided strictly on merit, while the closure of 19 toll plazas across Punjab is saving citizens nearly ₹64 lakh every day.
Addressing social welfare schemes, he referenced the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, which offers monthly financial assistance to women, and the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, providing cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family.
Touching upon legislative measures, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, was drafted with utmost care to ensure stringent action against acts of sacrilege, serving as a firm deterrent for the future.
