CHANDIGARH, July 29 — Health centers and electrical utilities across Punjab resumed regular operations after state representatives reached formal agreements with employee unions to end ongoing work stoppages. Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Employee Issues Harpal Singh Cheema declared that continuous negotiations over two days successfully addressed critical worker concerns across multiple departments.
The resolution restores full utility operations and clinical services statewide, while also settling pending matters regarding municipal sanitation workers.
“An ordinance to transition outsourced staff into contractual roles has been submitted to the Governor, paving the way for enhanced job security and service conditions for thousands of workers across the state,” Harpal Singh Cheema declared.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema affirmed that discussions between National Health Mission leadership and Aam Aadmi Clinic personnel resolved the main contention by ensuring past clinic service will count toward permanent position selections.
Addressing financial matters raised by power sector employees, state officials confirmed that a specialized committee will evaluate long-term financial structure adjustments.
“To address the financial aspects of their demands, the government has constituted a dedicated financial committee set to submit its final report by August 15,” Harpal Singh Cheema stated.
Harpal Singh Cheema maintained that the administration remains focused on employee welfare while protecting essential public utilities.
