Chandigarh, August 1: A high-tech inter-state examination cheating network operating out of Haryana has been busted by Punjab Police during the BFUHS Faridkot pharmacy examination, official representatives announced on Friday.
The operation, carried out by the Counter Intelligence wing alongside Faridkot and Ferozepur Range Police, targeted a syndicate that utilized customized electronic gadgets to transmit answers to candidates inside examination halls. Officials stated that thirty-five individuals, including key handlers and candidates, have been arrested so far.
“This is neither a paper leak case nor is there any involvement of any government employee, officer or examination centre staff,” Inspector General of Police (Faridkot Range) Nilambri Jagdale stated. “The investigation has established that the cheating gang operated entirely from outside using candidates as conduits.”
Providing details of the police action, IGP Jagdale declared that actionable intelligence on July 19 led teams to a makeshift control hub in Faridkot. The network relied on altered mobile devices equipped with RF frequency transmitters and microscopic earpieces to relay solved answers directly to candidates during the test.
Reaffirming the state’s position, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains stated that Punjab’s educational framework relies strictly on integrity and performance.
“Punjab has zero tolerance for cheating. We will catch every single person involved,” Minister Harjot Singh Bains asserted, adding that the state is actively pursuing future-ready measures, including the potential integration of blockchain technology, to make the examination process completely secure.
Minister Bains maintained that the state’s educational reforms have delivered verified outcomes in national competitive exams like JEE and NEET over recent years. He stated that the government remains fully committed to safeguarding the interests of genuine candidates and will act firmly against any external attempts to compromise the fairness of competitive assessments in the state.
